ABOUT LIZA RYUS

In a Nutshell

​

Liza has been working in the entertainment industry since 2010. Her early career grew from working with Fonco Creative Studios on Myth Busters: Dangerous Toys, GE Datalandia commercials, and The Little Prince on Netflix to becoming a staff costumer at the San Francisco Opera. She spent six years working for S.F. Opera as the Crafts and Dye assistant and Head of the Shoe Department before moving to New England in 2019.

Originally from Chicago, Liza received her BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2009 before doing her MFA at Academy of Art University in San Francisco in 2013. She since has completed her second MFA at Boston University 2022. 

​

With a wide range of production skills and materials knowledge, Liza has worked in Costuming, Dye, Puppet making, Props, Crafts, Stopmotion and 3D animation.


Liza now owns and operates her production studio, Brush & Blade, out of Hope Artiste Village in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. She lives in Boston, Massachusetts with her wife and family.
